Following a successful interactive robust project introductory engagements held with the 5 communities (Emede, Olomoro, Irri, Uzere and Oleh) and other key stakeholders (Youths & Women groups, PLWD, MFB, LGA, ODA Asaba, Min. of Water Resources, Regional Water Board, W.A.S.H Expert/Consultants etc) in the W.A.S.H sector across the Delta state and the subsequent nomination of representatives to serve on the Project Board of EU-Niger Delta Support Programme (NDSP) Component 3 – Water & Sanitation which is been implemented by Initiative for Community Development (ICD) in Isoko South LGA of Delts State. 

The PROJECT GOVERNING BOARD INAUGURATION took place on 2nd Feb., 2018 in OLEH CIVIL CENTRE, Oleh in Isoko South LGA.

The project is expected to run for a period of twenty-four (24) months with effect from November 2017The pilot project in Isoko South LGA will be implemented in phases and it is expected to kick start from Oleh community and gradually move to Emede, Irri, Olomoro and Uzere communities.

The overall object is :To attain national targets, improve the socio-economic wellbeing, peaceful coexistence and good governance in target communities through sustainable access to adequately safe water sanitation and hygiene services in Isoko South LGA

Initiative for Community Development (ICD) is a registered Non-profit Organization based in Warri Delta State.  Our programme areas are economic empowerment; conflict management and peace building; environmental services; waste management, sanitation and hygiene; democracy and good governance; health services and HIV/AIDS prevention education.

PINDFOUNDATION with ICD has organised a capable training on ICT/SOCIAL MEDIA for CSOs in Niger Delta region of Nigeria.

ICD and other local and international partners, planning how to control and reduce cervical cancer in Nigeria through robust advocacy, awareness creation, early testing for detection and administering of cervical cancer vaccines on Nigerians. Partnership for Eradication of Cancer in Africa (PECA) joined other Stakeholders including the Federal Ministry of Health and WHO to cost the Nigerian Cervical Cancer Control Plan (April 26-28,2016) in Abuja.

ICD have been tasked with the responsibility for engagement on SPDC GMoU program implementation planning, sustainable livelihood assessment and 5 years community plan development.

ICD was represented by Mrs. Nneka Nwankwo, Engr. Fieva Eghove and Mr. Festus Ogbalor during 'Bilagorogbene Mein Cluster Development Foundation' CDB meeting in Yenagoa.

Initiative for Community Development represented and the GHESA Ingenierai Y. Tecnologia of Spain recently met in Calabar on collaboration to enhance social investments in the The Health Sector.
